Jennifer describes the benefits of volunteering and advocating for other women with heart disease.

And one of the things I always encourage them to do is consider becoming a volunteer, consider advocating for women with heart disease. Because I personally have got so much back from participating and being engaged, that I think all of us should try at least. And you can, you can start small. If there are any research projects that you qualify for, begin as a participant in in the research and, you know, you’ll be helping improve the road that the rest of the people who experience heart disease will be traveling along. Or reach out to the Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Women’s Heart Foundation, and see where you can volunteer for them, because you can get so much out of it and learn, and you will benefit from the education.
